Hi Amanda, those antibiotics require a prescription. In Mexico their are 6 categories of drugs 1-4 required a prescription and 5-6 not requiring a prescription, unfortunately most antibiotics for infections diseases fall under category 4 and therefore most pharmacies especially chains will ask for the prescription, ofcourse I have seen many independent pharmacies not requiring prescriptions for controlled substances, either for the purpose of increasing sales or poorly trained staff who are not aware of which medications fall under which category
