For routine items, it’s probably OK. Would not recommend for a serious emergency unless you’re going to a specialized hospital and have someone who knows the system advising you.

Big IMSS public hospitals are good but take an interesting book and wait.

Is it similar to US/Canada? Like few weeks for appointments or months for any procedures. Or even longer?

I wouldn´t compare it- Latin America is way slower than US and Canada, and I lived in all of the countries mentioned before.
